Mirasoa Makalebo – Lead Vocal
Born on Madagascar, the Red Island, raised in France, and now based in Sweden, Mirasoa has lived her musical journey across cultures. From an early age, she was drawn to gospel, jazz, and soul, and has carried that love into every step of her path. After many performances in France, she continued her journey in Sweden, where she found her place in the local music scene.
With her warmth, creativity, and heartfelt voice, she brings sincerity and depth to the music, always aiming to share emotions rather than to shine alone. Alongside music, she is also the founder of Mirasoa Cares, a natural skincare brand, reflecting her values of authenticity, care, and well-being.
Mesay Ewanoski – Choir Vocals
Mesay is an artist who impresses as much with her presence as with her talent. With natural charisma and a magnetic aura, she lights up the stage with her energy and ability to spread positive vibrations.
Her powerful stage presence and expressive gestures captivate the audience, while her voice adds richness and strength to the group’s harmonies. Currently studying management, she combines discipline with creativity, making her an inspiring and dynamic personality.
Jennifer Ahonen – Choir Vocals
Jennifer is a passionate singer and active choir member in her church in Flen. A true fighter in life, she balances her role as a mother with her devotion to music and her faith.
Her talent has led her to record her own single “Hallelujah & Amen”, available on Spotify and Apple Music, where her powerful and emotional voice shines through. With her heartfelt interpretations and vibrant stage presence, Jennifer brings a unique authenticity to the Aretha Project.
Gustav Andersson – Piano & Organ
Originally from Malmköping, Gustav began with classical piano lessons during his childhood. He later studied composition at the Malmö Academy of Music and now works as a freelance pianist, composer, and arranger. He also serves as a church musician and accompanist for choir concerts.
Gustav performs in several groups across genres: the jazz ensembles Accantus Kvartett and Lutte Berg Ensemble, the blues band Hightide Blues Band, the folk quartet Slängpolska Social Club, and as a producer in the techno trio Skri. He also frequently collaborates with vocal and instrumental soloists in classical music.
Claes Fall, Bass
Claes is a highly respected bassist and deeply involved in music education in Sweden. He teached electric bass and double bass at Åsa Folk High School, S:t Eskils Gymnasium in Eskilstuna, and Eskilstuna School of Arts.
His expertise and steady playing make him a sought-after musician, both on stage and in the studio. With his ability to craft powerful and melodic bass lines, Claes is an indispensable part of the group, providing Aretha Project with a strong rhythmic foundation and an irresistible groove.
Bosse Jonsson – Guitar
Bosse is an experienced guitarist and member of the Hightide Blues Band, where he stands out for his smooth and expressive playing. A natural leader and unifying force, he brings a unique dynamic to every group he plays with.
With his charisma and energy, Bosse is a central figure in the band. He has had the honor of performing with artists such as Louise Hoffsten, Harpo, Mats Ronander, and Jan Johansen, showcasing his versatility and skill across genres from blues to pop. His inspiring playing and ability to bring musicians together make him a key figure in the Aretha Project.
Arnulf Ibsen, Drums
Arnulf Ibsen is a versatile drummer with deep roots in jazz, blues, and soul. Mentored early on by Egil Johansen, one of Sweden’s most respected jazz drummers, he grew up in the vibrant Stockholm scene of the 1980s, performing with both Swedish and international musicians.
Over the years, Arnulf has collaborated with big bands, blues groups, and legendary artists, always bringing a unique mix of groove, sensitivity, and gospel-inspired energy. Today, he joins Mirasoa to interpret Aretha Franklin’s timeless soul with passion and authenticity.
